I would always encourage you to give me a call if you can, talking on the phone can give a good feel for the animal and what the owner might like to see in a portrait. I suggest that you think carefully about how YOU see him or her, what might be a typical pose that would get to the essence of their personality?

If you would like an idea of whether existing photos would be suitable then of course feel free to email me with any photos you would like me to consider. If the animal is no longer with us I will do my very best to work with what you have, though the size of the portrait may be limited if the photo quality isn’t brilliant.

I only accept a very limited number of commissions a year due to time constraints; when you place an order we will agree a delivery date. Time required to complete a portrait can vary and for this reason please allow plenty of time if the portrait is for a birthday, or of course Christmas, or any other special date.

I take a minimum 25% non-refundable deposit on acceptance of the commission and the balance is paid before the portrait is started.

Once completed I send through a photo of the artwork. Very small tweaks may be possible at this stage. Then it is packed very carefully, with multiple layers of specialist paper and rigid card to protect the pastel surface, and posted Royal Mail Special Delivery in the UK, but I can ship all over the world.
